Common Java Cookbook Individual Chapters Available for Download

I've had a few requests from readers to create PDFs of individual chapters. Maybe you need to bring a team up to speed on a particular component like Commons Lang or Commons BeanUtils and it makes more sense to send people a focused, 20-page chapter on a single topic? Whatever the reason for the request, I decided to change the book's build to add these separate chapter downloads.

This change will also allow existing readers to download and update just the chapters that have changed since a previous release. As the number of components covered by the book expands, so will the length of the combined book. A 350-page 8.5x11" book will quickly turn into an unwieldy 550-page mammoth. Moving to a chapter-based approach is going to make it easier for people to follow along as the book's content continues to develop and evolve. A chapter-based approach will also more closely match the way in which people are used to interacting with eBooks.

Going forward expect more information about each chapter as a new edition is released, also expect a more granular approach to publishing. In an electronic book that is constantly updated, the "unit" of writing and distribution is the chapter.
